FAISALABAD: Two clerks of Wapda Faisalabad have been arrested for their involvement in multi-million rupees scam.
Clerks have been arrested from the Revenue office of Wapda Faisalabad for their association with this mega financial fraud.
Physical remand of both clerks Hafiz Aqeel and Asif Hussain respectively has also been obtained by FIA.
Hafiz Aqeel and Asif Hussain embezzled millions of ruppes by stamping electricity bills with fake stamps. The total amount of scam by these alleged clerks is reported to be Rs460 million. They collected this amount from consumers on account of electricity bills in connivance with Wapda Revenue Office staff, Post Office staff and the computer operator.
After the interrogation, it was found that many senior and junior officers in the office were also involved in this scam and such activities that shared the scammed amount.
FIA is conducting raids for arresting other employees of Wapda, the Post Office allegedly involved in the scam.
