GHALLANAI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mohmand Agency chapter on Wednesday demanded an inquiry into the killing of two tribespeople during a clash between Levies personnel and residents in upper Halimzai tehsil some two months ago.
They also demanded investigation into disputed route selection of a 2.5 kilometre link road from Kamali to Uthmanzai.
In a press statement, PML-N leader in Mohamnd Agency Malik Nisar Ahmad Haleemzai said that the authorities concerned needed to answer for an old map route being approved, which had led to a fatal altercation. The clash between Levies personnel and local people had erupted when the tribesmen tried to stop construction work on an under-construction Link Road in Speen Kor area of upper Halimzai tehsil. The Levies personnel, accompanying officials of the political administration who had come to talk to the enraged residents of the area opened fire at them and killed a man Rahamdad Khan and his son Dildar Khan, according to the eyewitnesses.
